Gutter guards that end the fall ladder routine

We install Alu-Rex and ArmourGuard guards, aluminum bodies with stainless mesh, that keep maple leaves and pine needles out while the water still gets in.

When: Best before leaf drop and pine-needle season.

How long: Most installs take a few hours to one day.

Why it matters up here

Up here, gutters fill with leaves in October, needles all year, and seed pods every spring. A clogged gutter overflows, holds water against the fascia, and turns into an ice dam the first cold night.

Straight talk: No guard is zero-maintenance. Expect an occasional rinse or brush-off, especially under heavy pine cover.

How we do it

  1. We clean and flush the existing gutters first, and fix pitch or loose hangers so the guard sits on a system that actually drains.

  2. Guards are matched to your gutter size and roof, then fastened so they stay put under snow load.

  3. If your gutters are too far gone to carry a guard, we'll say so and quote seamless replacement with guards together.

    “Best price of 4 estimates”

Showed up on time, worked steadily, cleaned up when done. Best price of 4 estimates, best gutter guard I have seen. Work looks as expected, excellent job done, to spec. Would recommend you get a quote from Dan.

“Exactly what working with a contractor should look like”

The overall experience received from Dan and team is exactly what working with a contractor should look like. Prompt and always on-time, responsive and thoughtful with advisement on options, as well as going above and beyond to ensure the finished project would exceed expectations. Highly recommend a conversation with Leading Edge if you are looking for higher quality materials than others will offer, but at a price point that is more reasonable.

Professional, prompt and attention to detail, Dan was able to eliminate a water issue near my back garage door. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for gutter installation. Thanks, Dan and son.

Gutter guards questions

Don’t see yours? Call or text (231) 715-1838. A real person answers, seven days a week.

How do gutter guards work?

A fine mesh over an aluminum frame lets water pass through by surface tension while leaves, needles, and seed pods slide off or sit on top to dry and blow away.

Can you put guards on my existing gutters?

Yes, on most sound gutter systems. If your gutters are sagging or leaking, we'll recommend fixing that first so the guard has something good to sit on.

Do gutter guards need any maintenance?

Very little. An occasional rinse or brush-off keeps the mesh clear, which is a lot less work than scooping out full gutters twice a year.

What brands do you install?

Alu-Rex and ArmourGuard. Both use aluminum frames and stainless-steel mesh that hold up to Michigan winters.

Are gutter guards worth it?

If you have trees near the house, usually yes. They prevent the overflows that damage fascia and foundations, and they keep you off the ladder.
