Leading Edge Gutters started in 2020 with a simple idea: Northern Michigan homeowners deserve a contractor who shows up, tells the truth, and builds for the winters we actually get.
Why Dan started Leading Edge
Dan Mikowsky spent a lifetime in the construction trade before he started Leading Edge Gutters. Over those years he kept seeing the same thing across Northern Michigan: good houses slowly damaged by water that should never have reached them. Overflowing gutters, neglected roofs, siding that let the weather in.
So he focused on the part of the house that handles water. Seamless gutters formed on-site. Guards that keep pine needles out. Roofs and siding installed for heavy snow, ice, and the freeze-thaw swings of a Michigan spring.
It’s still a family operation. Dan quotes every job himself and works alongside his son and a small crew. When you call, you’re talking to the people who will be on your roof.
We’re not the biggest outfit in the region, and we don’t want to be. We’d rather be the one your neighbor recommends.
How we work
- Say the price once
- You get our best price up front, in writing. We don't start high to leave room for a “discount,” and we don't push upgrades you don't need.
- Show up when we said
- On time for the estimate, on time for the install. If weather moves the schedule, you hear it from us first.
- Build it for February
- Every hanger, seam, and shingle is chosen for snow load, ice, and freeze-thaw, because that's what it will face.
- Leave it cleaner
- Old gutters, scraps, and screws leave with us. Your driveway should look better than we found it.
